「市場共和國」是一件從中華市場發展出來的錄像作品,關於營業中、收攤後、流動的、關係、速度、氣味、地域性、食物、人、交易、缺席的、在場的。市場裡聚集了多家花蓮經典食材攤商,多個小小的出入通道把市場包圍在馬路和商店建築裡,數十年來發展出自成一格的買賣風格和習慣。

 

作品透過多個螢幕懸掛在市場內,使觀眾的視線交錯著影像和市場現場,由程式控制影像播放時序,穿插流竄在市場豐富且多軸線的內在關係之間,宛如一種既熟悉又似乎抽離的態勢,跳脫連結到地球的另一端「對岸共和國」這一看似毫無關連的虛構(?)存在,形塑一層視覺隱喻,回應著此地特有的市場感。

 

The video artwork "The Republic of Market" is developed from Chunghua market. It is talking about on the business, after closing, flow, relationship, speed, smell, regional, food, people, transaction, absence, presence. Many stalls of Hualien classic food gathered in the market. There are several tiny passages into the market that is surrounded by streets and business buildings. Over the past few decades, a self-contained trading style and habits have been developed in the market.

 

The artwork through multiple screens is hung in the market, so that the audience's sight is interlaced with video images and market scene. The program control video playback timing. Interspersed flows between the abundant and multi-axis internal market relations, it seems like both a familiar and pulled out of the situation. Tripping link to the other side of the world "užupis" is seemingly related fictional (?) exist, thereby a layer of visual metaphors is formed, responding to the unique market sense of this place.
